Scope of validity

This privacy policy is intended to provide users with information about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

The legal framework for the privacy policy is based on the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German act concerning telecommunications media (TMG).

Collection of general information

Every time this website is accessed, we – or rather the webspace provider – automatically collects information. This information, also known as server log files, is of a general nature and cannot be traced back to you personally.

The data we collect includes:

  • Website name
  • File
  • Date
  • Data volume
  • Web browser and web browser version
  • Operating system
  • Domain name of your Internet provider
  • Referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our site)
  • IP address

Without this data, it would not be technically possible to provide or visualise all of the website content. It is to this extent that it is essential for us to collect such data. We also use the anonymised information for statistical purposes. It helps us to improve our site and the technology behind it. We also reserve the right to check the log files retrospectively if we suspect illegal use of our website.

Handling personal data

Personal data is defined as any data that can be used to clearly identify a person, i.e. data that can be traced back to a specific individual.

Personal data includes a person’s first name, surname, telephone number and email address. It also includes details regarding their hobbies, memberships and preferences, as well as web pages they have visited.

This data is only collected, used and – if necessary – transferred if the legislator expressly permits this or if the user agrees to the collection, processing, use and disclosure of the data.

Contact via email

If you contact us via email, we save the details you share with us to allow us to respond to your query and ask any potential follow-up questions.

Third-party content and services

Our website may contain supplementary content from other providers to complement our own products and services if this is in our legitimate interest as the provider. Examples of such content include maps provided by Google Maps and links to external websites. If you choose to use these services, the provider may make a note of your user IP address and even save it. We make every effort to only include third parties who use IP addresses exclusively for the purposes of delivering content; however, we have no influence on whether third parties store IP addresses for statistical purposes. With respect to launching websites referred to within this website, this privacy policy does not govern the collection, transfer or handling of personal data by third parties. Please also be aware in this context that the individual third-party providers whose services/links we publish on our website may have their own privacy policies.

Facebook plug-ins (‘Like’ button)

Our website includes plug-ins from the social media network Facebook: Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. You will recognise the Facebook plug-ins on our site by the Facebook logo or ‘Like’ button. An overview of the Facebook plug-ins is available here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you choose to visit our website, the plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. This notifies Facebook that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Facebook ‘Like’ button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link content from our site to your Facebook profile. Facebook can then assign your visit to our site with your user account. Please be aware that we – as providers of the site – are not aware of the content of the transmitted data or how it is used by Facebook. Further information can be found in the Facebook Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you do not want Facebook to link your visit to our site with your Facebook account, please log out of your Facebook account.

Google web fonts

This website uses what are known as ‘web fonts’ provided by Google to ensure all text published on our website appears uniformly. When launching one of our web pages, your browser downloads the required web fonts to your browser cache to ensure all text and fonts are displayed correctly. To this end, your browser must establish a connection with the Google servers, which allows Google to see that your IP address has been used to visit our website. We use Google web fonts to ensure your experience of our website is both uniform and attractive. This represents a legitimate interest in the sense of Article 6, paragraph 1, point (f), of the GDPR. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer is used instead. Further information on Google web fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq or in the Google Privacy Policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Cookies

This website uses what are known as ‘cookies’. Cookies are text files that are saved from the server to your computer. They contain information about your browser, IP address, operating system and Internet connection. We do not share this data with third parties or link it to your personal data without your consent.

Cookies primarily fulfil two tasks. They help us to make it easier for you to navigate our website and ensure it is all displayed correctly. They are not used to introduce viruses or launch programs.

Users also have the option to visit our website without using cookies. This requires the relevant settings to be changed in the browser. Please use the Help function in your browser for details on how to deactivate cookies; however, we would like to point out that deactivating cookies may compromise some of the functionalities of this website and affect your user experience. If you would like to manage your online ad cookies, visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) or http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe).

Data economy

In accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data economy, we only save personal data for as long as it is required or as long as specified by law (legal retention period). Once the collected data is no longer required or the retention period has expired, we block or delete this data.

Your rights to information, correction, suspension, cancellation and opposition

You have the right to request information free of charge about the personal data stored by us, and/or request that it be corrected, blocked or deleted. Exceptions to this include if the prescribed data retention period for the business transaction is still active or the data is still subject to the legal retention obligation.

In such cases, please contact our data protection controller. The relevant contact details can be requested from info@medsab.de.

For us to be able to consider a data block at any time, it is necessary for us to keep the data in a lock file for control purposes. Provided that there are no statutory filing requirements, you may also request that we delete this data. Otherwise we will block the data at your request.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to make changes to our privacy policy at any time to ensure that it always complies with the latest legal requirements. This also applies in the case that the privacy policy has to be amended based on new or updated services added on our part. The new privacy policy will then take effect from your next visit to our website.
